Coastal Storm Preparedness and Technology
This program seeks to determine how coastal communities can use Geographical Information Systems (GIS) during an emergency first response situation. Municipal officials will be provided with a range of ideas on how to use GIS for storm emergencies, based on what Connecticut towns are actually doing with GIS.
To provide a program that can use Geographical Information Systems, and can provide a range of different storm emergencies based on the towns in Connecticut.
Workshops for coastal municipalities enable an interchange between municipal officials and Emergency First Responders on the use of GIS in an emergency situation, with Super Storm Sandy setting the stage.
