Credit and Loans - First Year Experience Class

Program Goal: Average student loans in Connecticut now exceed $30,000. With growing research indicating that post college economic decisions are impacted by this debt, this is an important topic for students. In 2015 state legislation passed on the need for financial education at the high school and college level. UConn is incorporating financial literacy in its First Year Experience (FYE) classes.

Learning Objective: To provide a class for students to understand financial literacy and to teach them ways to prevent debt in their early years after college.
