People Empowering People (PEP)

Program Goal: The UConn PEP Program is an innovative personal and family development program with a strong community focus. The program is designed to build on the unique strengths and life experiences of the participants and emphasizes the connection between individual and community action.

Learning Objective: PEP promotes individual assets, relational skills, and community engagement. The program is based on a community capacity approach, and connects individuals to their community through prairing of community needs and resources.

Program Components: PEP Facilitator Training is held at the UConn West Hartford Campus (unless otherwise noticed), 1800 Asylum Avenue, Library Bldg. Room 308, West Hartford CT 06117. It’s a 2-day training (Thursday & Friday) 9:00am – 4:00pm. Cost: $200.00 per person.

Program Participants: The UConn PEP program is adaptable to a variety of settings, and is offered throughout the state at Family Resource Centers, Community Agencies, Discovery Centers, Faith Based Communities, and Correctional Institutions.
