Faculty & Staff Monthly Newsletter

January 8, 2024

College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources Dean, Indrajeet Chaubey

Dear Colleagues,

Happy 2024! What do you hope the new year will bring? For me, it's about small steps that lead to big impacts. For many years, I have stopped making grand resolutions. They just tend to seem intimidating and don't often lead to sustained progress. I do believe that setting intentions on reasonable, achievable goals at the beginning of a new year can be productive and enriching. So at the beginning of the year, I pick a new skill that I would like to develop rather than a sweeping resolution. In 2023, the skill that I picked was very new to me: golf. While I made great strides (or should I say strokes?), Tiger Woods' trophies are safe for now. I'm going to stick with it in the new year and keep having fun while I try to improve little by little.

Whether you choose sweeping resolutions or small changes and intentions, I hope that 2024 opens new opportunities and connections for everyone in the CAHNR community.

Thanks for all you do. Go Huskies!

Best,

Indrajeet Chaubey
Dean and Director
