Elizabeth Adler

Master Gardener Coordinator - Hartford County

Elizabeth M Adler is a Master Gardener and the UConn Master Gardener Coordinator for Hartford County. After a childhood spent in a garden filled with beautiful and unusual plants, she took courses in field botany while in college and considered a career in ethnobotany before settling on a different path. She earned a Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Pennsylvania, completed post-docs at the University of Toronto and Harvard, and served on the faculty of Williams College, where, in addition to running her lab, she taught courses in neuroscience, biology, and stained glass. She left academic research to become a science writer/editor, eventually retiring to spend time in a new garden among her beloved plants.
