Dear CAHNR Alumni and Friends,
Like me, I’m sure many of you were glued to your TVs, cheering on the UConn Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams as they showed their excellence yet again. Also like me, I’m sure that witnessing these preeminent athletes strive for their goal made you feel immense pride for the University of Connecticut.
There are so many things about UConn, and specifically the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources (CAHNR), that make me proud. For one, CAHNR shined again in UConn’s annual giving day campaign. Projects from across the College led the University in both dollars and supporters.
Also worthy of pride, the Department of Kinesiology is now ranked among the top in the nation for their program in exercise science. As one of UConn’s most highly ranked programs, it goes without saying that faculty and staff in Kinesiology are positively impacting the lives of our students, as well as the communities they serve.
And most recently, the Class of ’24 filled us with pride as they transitioned from students to alumni at Commencement ceremonies held on May 4 and 6, 2024. While the excitement of Commencement is still tangible for anyone who had the chance to attend, I am even more excited to see all that this group of accomplished scholars, activists, and leaders will achieve in the future.
UConn is a special place, due in large part to the engaged community of alumni who give their time, energy, and expertise long past their own graduations. On behalf of all of us at CAHNR and the Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture, thank you for your continued support of our mission and our students.
Go Huskies.
