- The average cow produces 8 gallons of milk per day, that’s over 100 glasses of milk!
- Cows spend 30 minutes drinking, 3-5 hours eating and 12-14 hours resting each day. It only takes about 5-7 minutes for a cow to be milked and they are milked 2-3 times per day.

- Dairy farmers live and work on their farms, so it’s important for them to protect the land, water and air for their families, their communities and future generations.

Farmers are adopting soil-building practices, such as covering their fields with plants all year long, and many use apps on their smartphones to precisely track the amount of nitrogen that is applied to their fields in manure or fertilizer. That way, they only use exactly what the plants can use, ensuring these nutrients stay in the ground.
