Bill Davenport

4-H Youth Development Assistant Educator


William Davenport, (UConn class of 1985, BS in Animal Science, class of 1986, MS in Animal Science), began in July of 2019 as the Litchfield County Extension 4-H Assistant Educator as a second career. Previously, Bill taught Agriscience and Technology at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury since graduating from UConn in 1986, retiring from teaching there after competing 33 years in June of 2019. He also served as Director of the Ellis Clark Regional Agriscience and Technology program from 2004 to 2019 as well. Bill grew up on a dairy farm in Litchfield and still is actively involved with his brother Jim’s (UConn, class of 1982, BS in Animal Science) Toll Gate Farm in Ancram, NY, where Bill owns 15 Holsteins and Ayrshires in the herd. Bill lives in Litchfield with his wife Jill (UConn, class of 1987, BS in Animal Science), and his two daughters Megan (UConn, class of 2022) and Allison, (UConn, class of 2024). Bill is a product of Litchfield County 4-H and is excited to be back and be involved with UConn 4H in Litchfield County.
