Kim Curry started as the Director of Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Support in January 2024. In this position, she supports graduate students and postdocs through advocacy, problem-solving, negotiating challenging power dynamics, and managing barriers to success. As part of the GSPA team, Kim meets with students and scholars one-on-one and in partnership with departments and student organizations. In her role, Kim also is a support and facilitator in The Graduate School’s appeal process following recommendations for academic dismissals, major advisor resignations leading to termination of student status, and allegations of Academic, Scholarly, Professional Integrity Misconduct (ASPIM). In an effort to foster communication among graduate students across campuses, Kim created a low-stakes, virtual graduate community forum, GRAD CHAT, which allows for discussions about topics pertinent to the graduate experience. Kim has worked at UConn since 2019, where she began in the Student-Athlete Success Program (SASP) as an academic counselor. 

Alisa Geller is the Assistant Director of Student Welfare at the University of Connecticut with over  25 years of experience in higher education. She focuses on developing programs that support student engagement, success, and well-being, with a strong commitment to equity and student-centered practices.

Alisa’s work is grounded in a passion for creating meaningful connections and building programs that meet students where they are. She has extensive experience developing and coordinating initiatives that support student engagement, well-being, and academic success, always with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility. Whether collaborating with colleagues across campus or working directly with students, she brings a thoughtful, empathetic, and solutions-oriented approach to everything she does.

In addition to her programmatic work, Alisa provides leadership through the supervision and mentorship of staff, cultivating a collaborative and supportive team environment. She is committed to professional development, guiding her team to deliver high-quality services while maintaining a strong focus on student needs.

She is driven by a belief that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive and is dedicated to creating environments that empower students to succeed both academically and personally.

Dr. Mroz leads UConn’s Research Development efforts, overseeing the OVPR’s efforts to support faculty research advancement and external funding success. His portfolio includes OVPR Internal Funding and research support programs, research opportunity matching, enhancement of collaboration/team science, research development training and education, and proposal development support. He also contributes to research strategy discussions and the building of external partnerships. He has a PhD in English Literature and Rhetoric and extensive experience in teaching, scholarship, and academic administration. 

As the Director of Graduate Student Administration, Megan specializes in graduate assistantships, voluntary separations, graduate enrollment exceptions, and departmental stewardship. Megan supports Graduate Assistants (GAs, which includes both RAs and TAs), department staff, and GA supervisors by providing resources and trainings related to GA processes, troubleshooting issues, and providing guidance on policies and procedures. Megan directly advises students who are considering voluntarily separating from the university through an academic leave of absence or exit on the financial and academic implications of canceling enrollment or withdrawing from the semester, as well as reviews dean-level enrollment exceptions for grads, such as late add/drops and degree time limit extensions, and coordinates the dismissal process. Megan also leads The Graduate School’s departmental stewardship efforts, including sharing large-scale communications on grad-related policies and procedures, reports on graduate enrollment and GA eligibility, and Timely Topics, a series of professional development opportunities for those who support and advise graduate students. Megan has been a staff member at UConn since 2012 and joined The Graduate School in 2018. She holds a B.A. in History and a M.A. in Adult Learning from UConn.
