Annual Graduate Student Research Forum

Each year during the spring semester, the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources sponsors a Graduate Student Research Forum. This event is an opportunity for graduate students to present their research, sharpen their skills, and compete for prizes.

April 26th, 2025: Research and Poster Presentations Call for Proposals

We invite you to present at the 2025 Graduate Research Forum. Each department can nominate students for 4 oral presentations and 6 poster presentations.

Critical dates:

March 26th, 2025 Due date to submit a proposal presentation request
April 2nd, 2025 Presentation participants announced

How to submit:

  • Decide the presentation type:
    • Oral Presentation (12-minute PowerPoint, 3 minutes for Q&A)
    • Poster (5-minute presentation)
  • To submit a proposal request by March 26th for an individual presentation, submit the following information to your department Graduate Student Council representative and department Graduate Coordinator:
  • Your name, presentation type, title, major advisor and department
  • Proposal request to present will be reviewed and selected by April 2nd
  • We encourage all students interested in presenting to submit a proposal request by March 26th for consideration. We will accommodate as many presentations as possible based on the total number of titles received.

Oral presentation Guidelines

  • Oral presentations should be structured for 12 minutes plus 3 minutes for questions.
  • Present at a specified time to be determined prior to the event.

Poster Guidelines

Your poster should highlight the important parts of your study. It does not need to include every detail of the study or the complete abstract text but rather should serve as a visual aid to effectively communicate your work to others (use charts, graphs, illustrations, and/or photographs as appropriate).

  • Make sure to proofread and share your poster with colleagues for feedback before printing.
  • Present a 5-minute poster presentation at a specified time to be determined prior to the event.
  • The pinning area is 6 feet long and 4 feet high.

Attendance and Registration:

The Forum will be held in person in the Young and Hicks Buildings. All College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.
