Michael Dietz

Senior Extension Educator and Department Head of Extension

Dr. Michael Dietz is a Senior Extension Educator and Department Head of Extension, where he has been a faculty member since 2010. He has been part of the Center for Land Use Education and Research, where he performed outreach to Connecticut municipalities and other audiences on green stormwater practices to improve water quality. Dr. Dietz was director of the Connecticut Institute of Water Resources from 2018 to 2026. His recent efforts have included outreach to private well owners to provide low-cost drinking water testing. Dr. Dietz has also taught water-related courses in the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, including co-teaching the “Stormwater Corps” class which integrates Extension and undergraduate education. Dr. Dietz is a proud UConn alumnus for his undergraduate (BA in Psychology 1994) and graduate degrees (MS in NRME 2001; PhD in NRME 2005)
