Extension values the role that data can play in the success of its outreach programs and overall functioning of the organization. The Extension Data Resources pages were created as a means to facilitate the use of data by Extension professionals. This resource includes three pages:

Each page provides information on a different component of data relevant to Extension work.
Extension Data Collection
Extension has several federal requirements that necessitate Extension professionals collecting data on their program participants and advisory board members. Additionally, Extension recently piloted the statewide indicators system, which is for summarizing and showcasing the overall impact of Extension professionals' work. As new systems for data collection and management are adopted, instructions and relevant information will be added to this page. Check out the page!
Extension Dashboards
Dashboards are a powerful tool for visualizing data that users can directly interact with. This page houses all the dashboards that use Extension data. One example is a dashboard that visualizes the results of a community needs assessment carried out in 2023, showing CT community members' ratings of effort required for various issues and awareness of Extension-related orgs and services. Another example is a dashboard comparing the demographic breakdown of 4-H youth in comparison to CT census data. Check out the page!
Data Consultations
Extension professionals carry out a lot of different work as part of their professional efforts and academic scholarship. As a result, there may be a need to analyze their data to evaluate the impact of their project or publish the findings of their research in an academic journal. But sometimes an Extension professional may want ideas for potential analyses for a grant they are working on, not know how to analyze the data for a particular project, run into issues when analyzing their data, or just want to gain a better understanding of specific analytical methods and tools.
